Welcome to my site!

Thank you for visiting! I am both an ESL teacher and a teacher trainer.  In 2012, I am the English Language Fellow in El Salvador and I am teaching classes at Don Bosco University.  In addition, I will be doing various workshops and professional development activities through the US Embassy and other institutions here.  I am thrilled to be spending the year in El Salvador!

My regular teaching job is at the International Education Center at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California.  It is an intensive academic English program that prepares international students to go to college and I have been teaching there since 2009.  I am also a teacher trainer with the SIT Graduate Institute in Brattleboro, VT.  I have taught the SIT TESOL and Best Practices Certificate courses in Chicago, South Korea, and Berkeley. In addition, I am part of a small educational consulting business called Berkeley LTC and we do workshops for different organizations.

On this site, the tabs for UDB students are password protected because there are discussion forums intended just for our class.  However, the rest of the site is free to explore.  Every month I will add a new Blog post that will pose some genuine "puzzle" that I have about teaching and learning.  It would be great to hear your comments and ideas there.  In addition, workshops that I do will have resources posted in the tab "For Teachers."  Thanks again for visiting my site, I hope you find it useful.
